Wisent Software ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Wisent mobile and web applications ("App" or "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you access or use our Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Scope and Applicability

This Policy applies to all users located in North America and the European Union. It complies with the GDPR (EU 2016/679), CCPA/CPRA, COPPA, and other applicable U.S. and international privacy laws.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal and technical data:

3.1 Information You Provide:

Account Information: Email address, full name, username/display name, and optional birthday.
Calendar Data: Events, all-day events, recurring event patterns, event locations, notes, and reminders you create or import.
Tasks and Actions: Task names, descriptions, due dates, completion status, and associated notifications.
Notes and Lists: Text notes, checklist items, and list names you create.
AI Input Data: Messages, prompts, queries, and calendar context that you provide when using AI features. This data is transmitted to our AI service providers for processing.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically:

Device Information: Device platform (iOS/Android), operating system version, app version, and device model.
Usage Analytics: App interactions, feature usage, session duration, screen views, and button taps collected via Mixpanel.
Crash and Performance Data: Error logs, crash reports, and performance metrics to improve app stability.
Session Data: Authentication tokens and session identifiers for maintaining your login state.
Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens for delivering notifications.

3.3 Information from Third-Party Sources:

Google Calendar: Calendar events, calendar names, and event details when you choose to import from Google Calendar.
Apple Sign-In: Email address and name provided during Apple authentication.
Google Sign-In: Email address, profile name, and profile picture URL provided during Google authentication.
Device Calendar: Local calendar events when you grant calendar access permissions.

3.4 Google API Services User Data:

Wisent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

We only access Google user data that you explicitly authorize (calendar events, profile information).
We use Google data solely to provide and improve our calendar functionality.
We do not sell Google user data.
We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes.
We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.
You can revoke access to your Google data at any time via Google Account Permissions.

3.5 Location Data:

Approximate Location: City, state, and country derived from your device or IP address, used to provide weather information.
Precise Location: If you grant location permissions, we may access your precise location for location-based features.

3.6 Financial and Transaction Data:

Subscription Status: Whether you have an active subscription, subscription tier, and expiration date.
Transaction Receipts: Purchase receipts from Apple App Store or Google Play for subscription verification.
Transaction IDs: Unique identifiers for purchases (no payment card details).
Entitlements: Premium features you have access to based on your subscription.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google. We never store your credit card number, CVV, or bank account details.

4. Purpose of Processing

We process data for the following legitimate business purposes:

Account creation, maintenance, and security.
Operation, improvement, and personalization of the App and Services.
Provision and enhancement of AI-assisted functionality.
Processing of in-app purchases, subscriptions, and donations.
Analytics, fraud detection, and system integrity.
Legal and regulatory compliance.
Administrative and support communications.

5. AI Processing and Automated Decision-Making

5.1 What Data is Shared with AI Providers:

When you use AI-powered features in the App, we transmit the following data to our AI service providers:

Your messages, prompts, and queries
Relevant calendar context (event names, times, and descriptions) to provide contextual responses
Task and action information when relevant to your query

5.2 AI Service Providers:

We use the following AI services to power our AI features:

OpenAI (GPT models) - Privacy Policy
Anthropic (Claude) - Privacy Policy
Google (Gemini) - Privacy Policy

These providers may retain your prompts temporarily for abuse monitoring and service improvement per their policies.

5.3 AI Data Retention:

We may store AI prompts and responses for up to five (5) years for product improvement, debugging, quality assurance, and feature development. You can request deletion of your AI interaction history by contacting us.

5.4 AI Limitations and Disclaimers:

AI-generated responses are produced algorithmically without human review and may not be accurate, complete, or appropriate for all contexts. You should not rely on AI responses for legal, financial, medical, or safety-critical decisions. AI features are provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

5.5 Opting Out: AI features are optional. Contact support@wisentapp.com with concerns.

6. Legal Basis for Processing (EU Users)

Processing is based on:

Consent: for optional features, AI interactions, cookies, and marketing.
Contractual Necessity: to deliver the Service you requested.
Legitimate Interests: security, analytics, and improvement.
Legal Obligation: to comply with applicable laws and enforcement requests.

7. Data Retention

Account and Content Data: Until you delete your account.
AI Interaction Data: Up to 5 years for product improvement.
Analytics and Logs: Up to 24 months (per provider policies).
Payment Data: Per Stripe/RevenueCat retention policies.

Data is deleted or anonymized after retention periods unless required by law.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share data with the following categories of third-party service providers:

8.1 Infrastructure:

Supabase - Database and backend services where all user data is stored. Privacy Policy
Cloud hosting and content delivery providers for website and app infrastructure.

8.2 Analytics:

Mixpanel - Product analytics (user interactions, feature usage, session data). Privacy Policy

8.3 AI Services:

OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini - See Section 5.2 for details.

8.4 Payments:

RevenueCat - Subscription management and entitlements. Privacy Policy

Apple App Store / Google Play - In-app purchases. Payment details handled by Apple/Google.

We never store credit card numbers, CVV, or bank account details.

8.5 Authentication:

Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In - OAuth authentication services.

8.6 Other Services:

Weather data providers (approximate location shared for weather features)
Push notification services (device tokens for delivering notifications)

8.7 Legal Disclosure:

We may disclose information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities as required by law.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Our website and web App may employ cookies and similar technologies for analytics and performance measurement. You may disable cookies through your browser or system settings, though some functionality may be limited.

10. User Rights

All Users: You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data. Contact support@wisentapp.com to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.

EU Residents (GDPR): You have additional rights including restriction of processing, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent.

California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know, delete, and opt-out. We do NOT sell your personal information.

Analytics Opt-Out: Disable tracking in Settings > Privacy.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Users aged 13-17 require parental consent. EU users under 16 require parental consent per GDPR Article 8.

If we discover data from a child under 13 was collected without consent, we will delete it immediately. Contact support@wisentapp.com to request deletion.

12. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, secure authentication, and regular monitoring. However, no system is entirely secure; use of the beta program is at your own risk.

13. Beta Program Disclaimer

The App is in closed beta. It may contain bugs or incomplete features. Use is at your own risk with no warranty provided.

14. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to the United States by our service providers. EU transfers comply with GDPR requirements including Standard Contractual Clauses.

15. Data Deletion

Delete your account via Settings > Account > Delete Account, or email support@wisentapp.com. Data is deleted within 30 days.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
